About the artist

“I have primarily been a Raku artist for many years and I love the excitement of the hands-on spontaneity of the Raku firing process. While I am able to influence the outcome, I am never able to completely control it. Every piece is entirely unique.

The hand-built box is interesting to me because it is technically difficult and particularly challenging to fire using the Raku method. It also provides an excellent canvas to display the beautiful crackle patterns of the glazes”. - Garrison Coverdale

Garrison Coverdale has shown his work in galleries in Washington, Oregon, Arizona, California and Hawaii. "Raku" fired ceramics is his main area of creative interest currently. He received his BA from WSU in 1971 and MFA from the University of Hawaii 1973
